04. How We Collect Your Data

- Directly from you -- when you create an account, fill in your profile, upload photos, RSVP to events, or enter a referral code.
- Through Apple Sign In -- when you authenticate using your Apple ID, we receive your name and email address (or a relay email, if you choose to hide your email).
- Automatically -- through Firebase Analytics, we collect anonymized usage data such as app opens, screen views, and crash reports to improve the app experience.
- From other users -- if another user shares a referral code with you, we may associate your account with their referral.
05. Legal Basis for Processing
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws, we rely on the following legal bases to process your personal data:
- Consent -- You provide explicit consent when you create your account and submit your profile information. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

- Communication facilitation -- to share your Instagram handle and WhatsApp number with users you have mutually matched with.

We do not use your personal data for third-party advertising. We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

We limit data sharing to what is necessary to operate the app:
Other Users
Your profile information (name, age, gender, country, photos, and interests) is visible to other Da Nang Social users. Your Instagram handle and WhatsApp number are shared only with users you have mutually matched with.
Service Providers
We use the following third-party services to operate Da Nang Social:
- Firebase Authentication (Google) -- for secure user authentication via Apple Sign In.
- Cloud Firestore (Google) -- for storing user profiles, matches, event data, and referral information.
- Firebase Storage (Google) -- for storing profile photos you upload.
- Firebase Analytics (Google) -- for collecting anonymized app usage statistics and crash reports.
Google processes this data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy and Firebase Data Processing Terms.
No Advertising Partners
We do not share any personal data with advertising networks, data brokers, or any other third parties for marketing purposes.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose your data if required to do so by law, or in response to valid legal requests by public authorities (e.g., a court order or government agency).
08. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers. Firebase infrastructure uses industry-standard security measures, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest.
- Access controls and authentication for all database and storage operations.
- Regular security audits and compliance certifications (SOC 1, SOC 2, ISO 27001).
We implement Firestore Security Rules and Firebase Storage Security Rules to ensure that users can only access data they are authorized to view or modify.
While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
09. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active. If you request deletion of your account and data, we will remove your personal information within 30 days of receiving your request.
Certain data may be retained for longer periods where required by law, or where necessary to resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or for legitimate business purposes (such as anonymized analytics data).
Profile photos stored in Firebase Storage will be permanently deleted when your account is deleted.
10. Your Rights

- Right to rectification -- Request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal data. You can also update most profile information directly within the app.

- Right to data portability -- Request a machine-readable copy of the personal data you provided to us.

- Right to withdraw consent -- Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

12. Children's Privacy
Da Nang Social is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18.
If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information as soon as possible. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at contact@grouplegion.com.
13. International Data Transfers
Da Nang Social is operated from Da Nang, Vietnam. Your data is stored on Firebase servers which may be located in the United States or other countries where Google operates data centers.
If you are accessing the app from outside these regions, please be aware that your data may be transferred to, stored, and processed in a country that may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.
By using Da Nang Social, you consent to the transfer of your information to these locations. We ensure that any international transfers comply with applicable data protection laws and that appropriate safeguards are in place, including Google's data processing terms and standard contractual clauses where applicable.
